Carmarthen Shopmobility is a scheme which lends scooters and manual wheelchairs to anyone with limited mobility so they can enjoy Carmathen Town Centre.
Even if you have serious difficulty walking, you can still enjoy Carmarthen Town Centre.
Hire one of Shopmobility's powered scooters or wheelchairs (including a wheelchair with a power pack), and you will have the freedom to go shopping in the extensively pedestrianised streets. Much of this area offers a smooth, level surface without kerbs that is ideal for anyone with a disability.
It doesn't matter why your mobility is limited or whether you are a resident or visitor to Carmarthen. Shopmobility is there to lend a helping hand (or wheel) to anyone who needs it!
We are located on the ground floor of the Debenham's car park, near the pay machines and the disabled parking spaces. See the Location page for a map.
If you are arriving by bus, we may be able to meet you with a scooter. Please contact us to make prior arrangements.
You need to be a member to hire equipment - you can join when you hire, all you need is two forms of ID. More details are on the Hiring Equipment page.
We also have a disabled toilet that is large enough for a scooter to be taken in.
